“On the 3rd Sunday of Lent 1881, Pastor Moe went to the pulpit in Harboøre Church and gave a sermon known as the ‘Brandy Sermon’. He had experienced having to send a bride and groom home because the groom was drunk and he had seen which “alcohol played a major role not only in weddings and funerals, but also in everyday life. That is why he preached against it.”
